In the spring of 1992, it was only a vision: Regional West Medical Center, a 183-bed
acute care referral hospital and level II trauma center in the panhandle of western
Nebraska would offer an air ambulance program to the citizens of the rural region
it served. In 1995, that vision became a reality, and the helicopter ambulance service
now known as Air Link has become a hallmark of service and continuum of care for Regional
West and all of western Nebraska. The flight program celebrated its 10th anniversary
in November.
