Author's Note: Since original submission, Life Flight Network has experienced more positive change. A transition to new EC 135 and AS350 helicopters will occur during the second half of 2008. Two new bases will be operational by June: Eugene, OR, and Dallesport, WA. Eugene, located in the Central Willamette Valley, is one of the largest metropolitan areas on the West Coast without an EMS helicopter. Dallesport is located in the Columbia River Gorge and will serve large portions of Oregon and Washington.
