FARE announces 2005 grant recipients

Special thanks to our 2005 FARE-WAY golf tournament sponsors!

The Foundation for Air Medical Research and Education has awarded seven grants to fund 2005-2006 research priorities that focused on three categories: safety, clinical, and operational investigations. A total of $75,000 was granted, of which $25,000 came from designated Vision Zero funds for research specifically relating to safety in emergency medical transport.

•Russell MacDonald, MD, Ontario Air Ambulance, “Epidemiology of Adverse Events in Air Medical Transport”

•Russell MacDonald, MD, Ontario Air Ambulance, “Characterization and Determination of Pretransit Predictors of Medical Intervention during Interfacility Patient Transport”

•Daniel P. Davis, MD, UCSD Emergency Medicine, “The Relationship between Airway and Ventilation Management Quality by Air Medical Crews and Outcome from Traumatic Brain Injury”
